During deep sleep the heart beat will come down very much and healing processes kick in. If due to some external stimuli during sleep, the blood flow to a particular part of the body is increased and thereby the heart is kept busy (for argument sake lets say you are sleeping upside down), what will happen? It will ruin the body if done everyday right?
I really do not understand your question. The only answer I can think of is sleep apnea causing you to become hypertensive but that is just a guess because I really do not understand you question
Is it good to have deep sleep?? But we are not alert while in deep sleep. Is it normal? If not then plz tell me its treatment…
Apparently the deep sleep or REM sleep portion of your sleep is the most important one.
how long time does it take before you fall into deep sleep?
How many hours does it take?
It takes me 5 minutes before I’m knocked out. My wife hates it though because I’m such a sleepy head.
i have noticed that i breathe very heavily if my fiance wakes me up when i am in a deep sleep… i also can feel myself becoming conscious… i dunno if that is the right way to describe it, but i feel tingly all over and i feel like i am getting dragged out of water or something… is this normal
In a deep sleep? Yes. Your body is in sleep mode, so ALL functions are basically cut in half to reduce energy expenditure. (Slower breathing, slower heart beat, etc.) Suddenly waking up from a deep sleep means your body needs to jump right back to full power, which will make you feel winded and crappy in general.
If it were something else, you’d have more symptoms throughout your day while you’re awake. So if you don’t get easily winded while awake or have heart/numbness problems, then it’s nothing serious at all.
Is it possible to dream in the deep sleep stage? Or does it ONLY occur during the REM stage?
I am curious because I’ve heard Evanescence lyrics from one of her songs – Imaginary:
"Oh how I long for the deep sleep dreaming, the goddess of imaginary light".
A Poet at Play..!
Rem sleep is when we are thought to dream or rather assume we dream because
the eyelids are considered screens the eyes or rather the imagination
is the projector…. one of many theories…?
Where is the definitive explanation I wonder ?
Or are REM eye movements there for some other reason.
Is the imagination soley responsible for dreaming ?
Or perhaps some explanation for other perceived conditions ?
Best Wishes.

Hi All
I am very depressed these days and can’t able to sleep properly since months, I want to test chloroform for deep sleep, Is it harmful to use for this purpose? Does it having any side effect in a long run? Can it be available easily in medical shop? If its harmful then please suggest me any other anesthetic…..I am looking for professional advice?
"I am looking for professional advice"
Sorry, but you need to ask a professional. Here you have complete unknowns who don’t know your case either.but I will say that chloroform is VERY dangerous and DON’T try it; you probably can’t get it anyway, but how can you control the dose so you don’t kill yourself?
And it chews up the liver.
The reason i’m asking this question is because, after a night of drinking. I tend to sleep as if there were no tomorrow.
If someone banged on my door wanting to fight while i’m in this deep sleep, and I woke up still drunk. Could I possibly defend myself ?
I do understand that alcohol impairs the ability to function properly, so it’s best to not drink at all.
However in a life or death situation, is it possible to wake up from a deep sleep, and ward off evil ?
Under the influence of alchohol you are only capable of performing skills that are highly trained and muscle memory. So, if you only play around with self defense concepts then you’ll resort to an arm flailing desperate mess. If you’ve trained in hand to hand combat for years and years, then you are more dangerous drunk than you are sober because you won’t use any good judgement or restraint.
If a person falls into deeper and deeper sleep during the night, the brain waves become progressively slower and higher in voltage?(CLIFFOD T.MORGAN)
I don’t know what Morgan is referring to. I believed the REM was the deepest and most restful sleep. Actually, the absence or truncation of any phase of sleep can cause problems. Brain waves during REM are predominantly alpha (8-12 cycles per sec.). The other phases are predominantly lower cycles per second. The various phases of sleep repeat several times each night, four to six times. The amount of REM sleep in time increases each cycle throughout the night until just about waking. Sleep is not a simple progression from one stage to another throughout the night. The stages cycle. Maybe he meant that the alpha rhythm becomes more and more synchronous and, therefore, higher voltage in REM in deep sleep as each cycle progresses.
Its only when I’m about to go into a really deep sleep. And I only notice it some of the times other times I fall right asleep without feeling anything. But every now and then I’ll feel like I’m Incredibly high, higher than any drug would ever make me. Why is this? It feels like sensations are multiplied and numbed at the same time, it’s very hard to explain.
sleep occurs in different stages and apparently one of the stages you’re experiencing is giving you that "high" feeling — usually the stage/level right before R.E.M (rapid eye movement). It’s like that feeling you’re awoke yet sleep. REM is the deepest sleep level.
