I thought the ESP was to stop my car from rolling. I’m not going to roll on a flat, yet bumpy piece of road. So why does it come on?

Modern vehicles, that offer traction control devices, perform a self-test on the ABS, Traction Control and Stability Control computer(s).

If there is an error encountered in any of these systems when starting or while driving (gravel roads, rough roads, wet roads and so on), an error light will steadily illuminate in the instrument cluster of the vehicle.

During this time, one or more of these traction control devices will be unavailable and you should know how to maintain vehicle control if these aids are unavailable.

It is also possible that a vehicle make and model may offer switches which power off the ABS, Traction Control or Stability Control………….

I am renting a car to go visit my family in columbus ohio and i am in the focus and i saw that it had stability control. I pressed the stability control and all i saw on the instrumentpanel was a car with skid marks behind it. Does this mean that it is on or off? Thanks For your help.

The icon/light that you describe is for the
ADVANCETRAC STABILITY ENHANCEMENT SYSTEM
Your vehicle may be equipped with the AdvanceTrac system. The
AdvanceTrac system provides the following stability enhancement
features for certain driving situations:
• Traction Control System (TCS), which functions to help avoid
drive-wheel spin and loss of traction.
• Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which functions to help avoid skids
or lateral slides

The system default is "ON"
When you press the button, you are turning it "Off"

For more information about the system , see pages 179-183 of the digital (download-able) Owners guide. Link provided in source area.

I would like to know because i was on Facebook and i searched ESP and one of the things that came up was a fan page for Satan! please help me and tell me ASAP!

They are related in one way: there is no evidence to show that any of these things exist!

I put the memory card into the slot that goes into the printer. I hit the start button to start scanning and it did start the scanning. But it’s been over a half hour now and it still hasn’t given me any conformation on the completion of the scan. Is there any way I can scan multiple documents from my Kodak ESP 7 AIO directly to my computer or onto the memory card without having the USB 2.0 cable?

with a wireless connection

I have just bought a 2008 mercedes c class. I have read the manual a few times but still unclear on what the purpose of the ESP is. I tried calling the salesman a few times for clarification, but he was not very helpful.

Can someone please explain what is the purpose of the ESP and when it should/should not be used?

Thanks in advance.

Is Shotokan Karate a good compliment to Judo esp in relation to self defence? I’m thinking of training 3 nights a week. Week one- Judo twice and Shotokan once and Week two- Judo once and Shotokan twice. Would this be good and would it help me create a decent self defence style?

The more varied styles you know, the better you are.
Karate is a hard style that tends to focus on straight line attacks.
judo is more soft, involving grappling and such.

If you don’t have the judo and someone grapples with you, you are less knowledgeable about what to do. You’ll notice some of the best fighters have taken many different styles. the weakness of one can be helped by using a style strong in it.

What are some websites that have evidence that Extrasensory Perception exists? And what are some websites that are skeptical of ESP?

As far as I know, ESP has never been solidly proven or disproven. However, there has been some interesting research done on this subject. Here are a few websites that you might want to check out to learn more about ESP research. It includes info of Government, clinical and universities research.
To learn more about any one of them, I would recommend contacting the institution directly as they have probably released papers on the subject.

What is the difference between those? I read about them and it sounded like there’s no difference between 4Matic and ESP/ASR. From what I understood 4Matic and ESP/ASR are doing the same thing. So could someone explain to me what’s the difference between those three and what each one of them do.

4matic is Mercedes lingo for all wheel drive system. Its quite a sophisticated set up sending power 45% to front and 55% to the rear at all times, if slippage is detected more power is sent to the wheels with traction. Some less sophisticated systems are front wheel drive only until slippage is detected.
Stability control works with the steering angle input, engine management computer and the anti lock brakes to prevent the car from spinning out while cornering or performing evasive maneuvers.
Traction control simply prevents wheel spin and the resulting loss of traction.
All very different systems.

I’m considering moving to the state my child would attend college, yet how many years until she is considered a "resident" of that state for tuition reduction.

IT takes one year. You have to get a drivers license and bank accounts in that state one year prior to when they would be considered a resident. It also depends on your state.

.. or rather social accommodation instead? How could we as a society make the determination?

MEN ARE CREATERS WOMEN ARE CONSUMERS ALL THE WAY BACK THROUGH HISTORY……NOW IS THE AGE OF THE CONSUMER…..WOMEN IN WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE SEEN AS A POWERFUL CONSUMER BLOCK ……SO NOW WE PRETEND TO FEAT THEM AS EQUAL.
